Nate Levin: Music Director, Bass, Guitar, and Drums Instructor

 

Bassist, Nate Levin, of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, began studying guitar and electric bass at age 13. Described by the Oberlin Review as having “high-quality musicianship” and creating “chest vibrating bass-lines,” Nate has performed professionally in rock clubs, private parties, concert halls and churches.

 

He has recorded and performed with various metal, classic rock, punk, pop, funk, blues, r&b, classical and jazz ensembles.

Currently, Nate teaches electric bass lessons at the Oberlin College Conservatory, where he has also been featured in its Wind and Contemporary Music Ensambles.

Tom Fosnocht: Drums, Keyboard, and Vocals Instructor

 

 

Pianist, drummer, singer, and composer Tom Fosnocht is going on his last year at Oberlin's Conservatory of Music in Ohio. He is currently the pianist for Oberlin's Contemporary Music Ensemble under the tutelage of Tim Weiss.

 

A singer/pianist/drummer for various bands and ensembles in the Oberlin area, Tom has played with a 3 piece pop rock band Lazerwolf, a 4 piece rock band Stella, and this year is a music director for Oberlin's David Bowie cover band.

 

At his hometown of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, Tom is the 4 piece rock band Ten:PM with his brother Harry. Currently, he teaches privately around Oberlin, and is affiliated with Oberlin's Community Music School.

Harry Fosnocht: Guitar, Bass, Vocals, and Drums Instructor

 

Harrison Fosnocht, from southeastern Pennsylvania is a electric guitar principal at Berklee College Of Music; double majoring in "Guitar Performance" and "Contemporary Writing and Production."

 

Harrison has years of experience in live performance on guitar, bass, vocals, drum kit, and percussion. He has performed professionally at many popular venues in Boston within the last year, such as Harpers Ferry, The Revolution Nightclub and more.

 

Harrison has sang and toured England with the Valley Forge Choir of Men and Boys. In 2006 and 2007 Harrison was selected as the first Tenor for the PMEA District 12 Choir.

 

Teaching is big part of life for Harrison, who has given private instruction on guitar and bass to kids from the local middle school for 3 years. Harrison is excited to share his knowledge with the campers through the power of music.

Emily Hultman : Guitar, Vocals, and Piano Instructor

 

Emily Hultman began studying music in many forms since the age of three,
including lessons in guitar, voice, piano, and banjo. She grew up in a
musical family, and her much older brother and sister gave her an
informal education on how to be a rock star. She has studied with
Bobby Ferrazza, jazz guitar professor at Oberlin College Conservatory of music.

 

Emily has performed on guitar and voice with Crossroads Jazz Band,
Aberdeen University Big Band, and various rock and folk groups. She has
performed with the semi-metal group SPACE PENGIN! for the last three
years. She also served as the music specialist at Camp Boggy Creek in
Florida in 2006 and directed the music program there, from DJing to songwriting workshops.

Timothy Getz: Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, and Vocal Instructor

 

Growing up in the small town of Warwick, NY, Tim was already singing and playing Beatles songs on the piano at six years old. He is currently studying at Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music. Tim is majoring in Music History and Theory.

 

Tim is a proficient bassist and guitarist. He has been classically trained, including three years of piano lessons with Cosmo Buono and with Lydia Frumkin at the Oberlin Conservatory. He has a great deal of experience accompanying choirs, vocalists and instrumentalists including notable chamber musicians at the Musica e Arte Festival in Tolentino, Italy.

 

He has given private piano lessons to students in his hometown and served as musical director for the community theater group, Admit One Productions. He also writes arrangements and sings in a college a cappella group, 'Round Midnight.

 

Currently, Tim is the lead singer of the David Bowie Cover Band at Oberlin College. Tim plans to continue his dedication to music by performing and teaching. He knows from experience - that we can learn the most about music by interacting with other musicians.

garrett mcneill

 

Garrett McNeill : Guitar Instructor/Recording and Sound Tech. (Co-Founder)

 

Garrett has been the head instructor of music at Camp Lohikan for the past two years. He plays and can instruct guitar, bass, and drums. At SUNY Rockland, Garrett received an entire year of training in pro audio.Garrett also has an extensive background in video production and his work includes for tv commercials as well as a public access tv show.

 

Garrett understands the value of the summer camp experience first hand, and can’t wait to get kids involved in music this summer.

Nat Gelb: Dee-Jay Instructor (Co-Founder)

 

Nat has been dee jaying for years. Back in high school he would dee jay at social gatherings as well as school events.

At Oberlin College, Nat continued his career as a dee jay, performing weekly at the campus bar as well as hosting a radio show on the campus station, WOBC 91.5.

In the summer of 2007, Nat began teaching the art of dee jaying to kids. He ran the dee jay clinic at Camp Lohikan in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.

 

Nat looks forward to teaching more kids how to dee jay this summer.
